摘要
Current data indicate that the onset of social phobia starts from adolescence. The main purpose of this study is to investigate if the level of social phobia changes as a function of internal-external personality types, level of school achievement and sociodemographic factors, in a group of adolescents. The sample of the study consisted of private college students of 44 girls and 59 boys with an age range of 13-17. Students were presented with a sociodemographic question form prepared by the researchers, Capa Social Phobia Questionnaire for Children and Adolescents (CSPQ-CA) and Eysenck Personality Questionnaire-Extraversion subtest (EPQ-E). School achievement was measured through grand point average (GPA) and students' reports on how they perceived their level of achievement. Correlative results revealed a negative significant relationship between CSPQ-CA scores and EPQ-E. CSPQ-CA scores also turned out to change as a function of level of internal-external personality type, perceived school achievement and gender, which are in line with the expectations. It was also observed that students GPA scores were consistent with their perceived level of achievement. Results were discussed within the scope of cognitive behavioral model on social phobia.
