摘要
One hundred water samples were collected from five swimming pools at 1989 summers months for bacteriological examination. Membrane filtration and MPN procedures were used in this work. a high percentage of the samples were polluted with certain indicator bacteria like Staphylococcus aureus, Streptococcus faecalis and Pseudomonas aeruginosa. Swimming pool No.1 showing the lowest count of total coliforms, Escherichia coli, Streptococcus faecalis, Staphylococcus aureus and Pseudomonas aeruginosa, while the swimming pool No.4 showing the highest count (except Pseudomonas aeruginosa) of the above microorganisms. The levels of free chlorine (0.0-0.36 mg/l) seems to be failure to remove E. coli or other coliforms which were more sensitive to chlorine.
