The adsorption of neutral and basic zinc diisobutyldithiophosphates (ZDTPs) and bis(diisobutoxyphosphinothioyl)-disulfide (DS) on carbon lack (CB) from n-hexadecane solution was studied. The effects of additive concentration, time, and temperature on adsorption under static conditions were investigated. The neutral ZDTP adsorption isotherm is S-type. Its first plateau and the adsorption isotherms of basic ZDTP and DS follow the Langmuir equation. At higher temperatures, oxidation of neutral and basic ZDTPs to DS occurs on CB, and DS decompose into unknown products.
