Burnout of the Nurses Working in the Otolaryngology Clinic

This paper has been planned to determine the burnout level of the nurses working in otolaryngology clinics alongside with the sociodemographic and job factors affecting these levels. The universe and samples of the research are 100 nurses working in otolaryngology clinics in 8 citiesin the process of collecting the sample data, a survey, which has been prepared in accordance to sociodemographic properties and the literature, was used together with Maslach scale (measure), which is a scale whose validity and reliability is tested and is translated to Turkish by cam. "Distribution frequency "of the data, which has been collected by the survey and "Maslach Burnout Scale", was evaluated by "qui-square"and Pearson correlation analysis. Mean age of the participant nurses was 32+6.98 years. Mean duration of nurses work at otolaryngology clinic was 6.5+5.9 years. The mean burnout score for the nurses were: The mean of the minimum emotional burnout score was 19.94+6.23. The mean of minimum insensitivity score was 4.38+3.9. Mean of minimal personal success was 24.29+5.00. As a result it was determined that the nurses are experienced in a middle level burnout.
