摘要
The Renaissance Project set out to demonstrate tile potential for university teaching of interactive multimedia. The Cambridge and Keele Team developed a Scientific and Graphical Toolkit for HyperCard in support of their work of writing mathematics materials. This has now been published. The toolkit provides support for the full range of graph plotting in two or three dimensions, together with a number of commonly needed mathematical operations including evaluation of expressions, matrix operations, solution of differential equations, and Fourier Transforms. The experience suggests a design for future work which will provide mathematical graphics support across a wide spectrum of modern software, avoiding the need to reinvent it each time that a new authoring language is used.
