THE SIGNIFICANCE OF PSYCHOGENIC PHYSICAL SYMPTOMS IN PSYCHOTHERAPY

摘要：
Physical and psychical complaints of 1006 neurotic patients were evaluated (using Brahler's questionnaire with additional questions on psychoneurotic symptoms). It was found that 92% of the neurotic patients suffered from psychogenic functional disorders. These symptoms were evaluated in terms of their frequency and their meaning within the neurotic dynamics. It is stated that psychotherapy can have a preventive function by including somatic symptoms in its effective range and thereby preventing chronifications and ensuing somatic diseases.
