摘要
Pr3+-doped fluoride fibre amplifiers are very promising devices for 1.3 mum telecommunications systems. The upper laser level branching ratio to the lower laser level and ground state is important in determining amplifier performance. The first experimental determination of this ratio is described. This value agrees well with theoretical predictions.
