Elbow arthroscopy remains a technically demanding procedure with good options for therapy of the arthritic elbow or various synovial disorders of the elbow such as rheumatoid arthritis, synovial chondromatosis, pigmented villonodular synovitis, septic arthritis, or mechanical problems caused by a synovial plica. The list of contraindications is short, most procedures can be performed on a outpatient basis, and the advantage of minimally invasive arthroscopy over open surgery is evident.
