OPTIMAL SIZING OF GRID-CONNECTED PV-SYSTEMS FOR DIFFERENT CLIMATES AND ARRAY ORIENTATIONS - A SIMULATION STUDY

摘要
The optimum ratio of the nominal PV-array capacity to the rated inverter input capacity in grid-connected PV-systems is determined with numerical simulations for several locations, array orientations, inverter characteristics, and component costs. Typically, the sizing ratio maximizing the energy produced per system investment ranges from close to 1 to approximately 2, with the characteristic PV-array output the most significant parameter affecting the sizing. However, the system performance is rather insensitive to deviations from the optimum.
