THE 2-DIMENSIONAL HUBBARD-MODEL - A RENORMALIZATION-GROUP ANALYSIS

摘要
The two-dimensional Hubbard model is analyzed using the real-space renormalization group method. We have considered isotropic and anisotropic hopping in the half-filled band. The insulating gap is obtained in both cases. The system is found to be metallic up to a finite value of U in the anisotropic system t(x) not-equal t(y), where U is the interaction parameter and t(x)(t(y)) is the hopping on the x(y) direction. When t(x) = t(y) we find an insulator state for U > 0.
