Press Control before and after the Fall of Franco (1974-1977): The ABC Case

Between 1974 and 1977, a series of political events transformed Spain, outlining a new scenario for Journalism. This article aims to provide an overview of the changes into the daily ABC in that period, a stage where a broad perspective is given from the fall of Franco, the dissolution of the regime and finally with what has been called the Transition to democracy. The study seeks to analyze, in the light of the new situation experienced in the nation, the way in which ABC has confronted the phenomenon of consignas in their international political article. Therefore, the research is relevant to compare the way of work of the daily ABC during the Franco's regime and to its disappearance.
