摘要
This paper provides an outlook in the trends of mortality rates major infectious diseases at the Indian level using the data from Institute for Health Matrix and Evaluation (IHME). The Joinpoint Regression analysis is used to the estimates of Annual Percent Change (APC). Change points in the trends of selected ID's mortality are statistically significant. Mortality rates have shown gradual decrement in the study period from 1990 to 2015. The results showed that mortality rates of major infectious diseases in India decreased overall and these decrease interrupted for the moment by the HIV/AIDS and its co-infection with TB. Sex-specific mortality rates were high in the male population across most of the age groups. Among the studied major seven infectious diseases, lower respiratory infections showed largest decrease in the mortality rates and remained top cause of infectious disease deaths. Government of India have to "something more" kind of chant, like funding more for health policies, better strategies, more prevention programs and vaccinations.
