摘要
The matter of the article is the epistemological difference between symbols and signs. Symbols and signs have different sources of provenance and understanding. Sign has a strict meaning. It is defined by reason. Symbol is a linguistic expression of sublime experience. It does not have only meaning. Symbols can always be a matter of interpretation. The author studies philosophy of signs by Aristotle, Barthes, Baudrillard, Spengler, Heidegger, Wittgenstein, Jakobson and others. The theory of symbols is represented from the eidetic point of view. The power of signs is the effect of the decline of symbolical consciousness. Signs cannot change symbols. Symbols have a unique nature. Refs 9.
