AIR-SEA INTERACTION IN THE MARINE ATMOSPHERIC BOUNDARY-LAYER - A NEW SOUTH-AFRICAN RESEARCH VENTURE

摘要
Recent statistical results have demonstrated unambiguously that the oceanic environment of southern Africa plays an important regulating role in the climate of the subcontinent. The mechanisms through which this control comes about are beginning to emerge. An innovative research programme to investigate the interaction between ocean and atmosphere in those ocean areas that have been identified as crucial to southern African climate has just started.
