摘要
The magnetic anisotropy of single-crystalline cobalt and the temperature dependence of the hyperfine fields of cadmium in cobalt were studied by the perturbed-angular-correlation technique without any applied magnetic field. A uniaxial basal-plane anisotropy was found instead of the expected threefold one, and was explained by lattice-deformation-induced anisotropy. The obtained temperature dependence of the angle between the magnetization and the c axis is in agreement with the uniaxial anisotropy constants K1 and K2 found by torque magnetometry. The room-temperature values of the hyperfine fields are B(hf) = 288(3) kG and V(ZZ) = 32(5) X 10(15) V/cm2.
