摘要
This paper addresses the topic of sway frames with semi-rigid connections. A design-oriented method is developed by which in-plane overall and member buckling are controlled by way of allowable slenderness ratios. A framework would initially be designed by plastic design and the resulting column and beam members are then compared with the stipulated slenderness values. A number of examples are used to illustrate the procedure. The aspects of lateral buckling, local buckling and flexural ductility are excluded from this study.
