摘要
Understanding the reasons why the crisis has had such differential labor market effects is crucial for designing employment policies that support employment creation and speed up the recovery. Government, higher education institutions, businesses and unions agree that one reform that should be urgently undertaken should aim at increasing the efficiency of the educational system to foster entrepreneurship, because the (e)-entrepreneurial offers opportunities to collaborate on economic development and recovery. During the last few years, e-entrepreneurship has begun to emerge as a new business model from the synergies between ICT developments and a digital generation. Certainly, these e-entrepreneurial opportunities can collaborate on economic development and recovery. This chapter focuses upon the digital and entrepreneurial competences of higher education students at Rovira i Virgili University. It is an exploratory study to clarify if we can really take advantage of ICT to impulse business start-ups and economic recovery. The relationship among digital competences, employability and e entrepreneurship will be discussed. Results show that graduate students can be considered as digitally competent professionals, though it is also worth mentioning their low level of entrepreneurial self-efficacy. Consequently, we believe it is necessary that the Spanish education system continue its work to make students consider (e)-entrepreneurship and self-employment as a professional career option, which will impact on their employability. Key words: e-entrepreneurship, employability, digital competence, higher education.
