摘要:
A new species of skink, Leiolopisma stenotis, endemic to Stewart Island, New Zealand, is identified on the basis of morphology and distinctive combinations of allozymes. Discovery of this species brings the total known lizard fauna of Stewart Island to five species. Three of these are endemic to Stewart and adjacent Codfish Islands, indicating a long isolation of the reptilian fauna.
