摘要
Evidence for an avoided crossing of surface phonon modes on a clean metal surface which is induced by electron-phonon interactions has been found. This mechanism provides an explanation for the behavior of the surface phonon dispersion on Mo(001) measured with high-resolution inelastic helium-atom scattering. © 1990 The American Physical Society.
