PRODUCTION OF O(S-1) FROM N2O BY ELECTRON-IMPACT

摘要
Dissociation of N2O into metastable O(1S) fragments following electron impact has been studied in the energy range from threshold to 500 eV. A novel detector, selectively sensitive to O(1S), has been used together with pulsed excitation and time-of-flight techniques. The data suggest that O(1S) production is dominated by a single dipole allowed transition in the parent molecule.
