摘要
Eutrophication of lakes, caused by anthropogenic activities, is an urgent environmental problem in Sweden. In order to restore eutrophic lakes, the whole drainage basin has to be considered and a comprehensive approach has to be applied. This paper presents a case study of Lake Angarn. Lake Angarn is the foremost habitat for waterfowl and migrating birds in the county of Stockholm, but the number of breeding birds has decreased considerably during recent years. In order to investigate the hydrological and chemical conditions in the drainage basin of Lake Angarn, a research project was initiated. The results of the investigation of the hydrology and nutrient flows in the drainage basin of Lake Angarn show a high input of nutrients and confirm the need for a comprehensive approach to achieve a sustainable restoration. In this context, environmental impact assessment is one way to gather basic information and to systematize feasible solutions. © 1993 Academic Press, Inc.
