BOUNDARY-LAYER INSTABILITY IN A COUPLED-MAP MODEL

摘要：
We describe a simple coupled-map lattice model of a convective system with a boundary layer. At a critical point, the convective effects exceed the diffusive effect and the boundary layer becomes unstable and emits thermal plumes. This instability is studied within a mean field approximation. Also frequency spectra of time signals and temperature fluctuations are considered.
