摘要：

In the offered review the analysis of the article by M.S. Litvinchuk is given. The purpose of the publication is to show insufficient scientific validity of the main research conclusion about "Mongoloid shape" of residents of Surgut of the19th and the beginning of the 20th centuries. The reason of changes in anthropological shape of the Russians who were inhabiting Surgut, M.S. Litvinchuk connects with the prevalence of the marriage relations of residents of Surgut with ostyaks. There is only one basis for this research and that is a noncritical and inattentively used source, the book by S.P. Shvetsov, who was in exile in Surgut in the 19th century.
