摘要
The interaction of holes with antiferromagnetic spin fluctuations in doped cuprates is discussed in both the weak and strong coupling limits. The elementary excitations in the normal phase are spin bags corresponding to a hole of spin 1/2 and charge e surrounded by a region of suppressed spin fluctuations. The relation to photoemission spectra, including the pinning of the chemical potential in the gap, is presented. Finally, a new approach to the strongly correlated metal state is presented, based on a quantum generalization of the quartic Ginzburg-Landau action functional. This method holds promise for treating all coupling strengths.
