摘要
Introduction: today required innovations are those that influence the progress and encourage research, encouraging through the latter, the finding of inherent educational process variables, in order to get results in aspects such as: students performance, attitudes, cognitive styles, teaching strategies, among others. Objective: To structure a set of reflections to analyze Ecuadorian educational innovation in higher education and teaching portfolio as development tools. Development: a systematic search ELSEVIER, Web of Knowledge and Google Scholar using the terms: educational innovation, Ecuadorian Higher Education Development was made. Search has been limited to newspapers, policy documents, books and articles written in Spanish, French and English, 2010-2016. 5 Further studies were added at the discretion of the authors, constituting all the above the inclusion criteria. As exclusion criteria authorities interviews were not selected. Conclusions: the final reflection revolves around the contribution of innovation to the development of a region or country, the latter depends largely on its ability to stimulate educational innovation, particularly, in higher education, Ecuador does not escape this; while the country aims to achieve high levels of quality in this educational subsystem, strengthening the institutionalization of innovative efforts. All from the action and reflection and knowledge agglutination, in which plays a vital role as a key element in the practical and theoretical university teaching, the teaching portfolio.
