摘要
Aims: A German-language version of the Stages of Change Readiness and Treatment Eagerness Scale (SOCRATES), an instrument that measures >> motivation to change << was assessed for its factor structure and concurrent validity. Method: Using the SOCRATES and therapists' ratings from the Denial Rating Scale (DRS), readiness to change was assessed in 207 patients receiving inpatient detoxification. 50 patients completed the SOCRATES at both the beginning and at the end of treatment. Results: Use of the SOCRATES for individualised treatment planning of inpatients undergoing alcohol detoxification treatment is not recommended.
