摘要
A three pole superconducting wiggler with six racetrack NbTi coils kept together by iron yokes has been constructed and tested in Tampere University of Technology, Finland. The magnet is designed for an undulator source MAX II (University of Lund, Sweden) operating at 1.5 GeV. The wiggler will produce hard X-rays and three to five beam lines will take advantage from the magnet. The characteristics of the magnet have been reported in a previous paper [1]. This article gives an overview of the training procedure of the wet layer impregnated magnet. The tests indicate an obvious improvement of a critical current by training, although it required an excessive number of quenches. Quench analysis and some other cryogenics are also included in the discussion. Measurements are compared to the calculated values.
