摘要：

In the present paper the results of the experimental and numerical investigations of the deformation behavior of sand under cyclic loading with polarization changes are presented. In the case of a polarization change, the accumulated strain rate rises abruptly. With the focus on this phenomenon, an extensive test program has been carried out in the simple shear device with changeable shear direction. Based on these results a new approach for describing the polarization change in the explicit accumulation model is formulated.
