The Social Capital: Towards a Conceptualization as a Strategy for Local Development in a Rural Community

The social capital is a modern concept of the theory about the means of support, assets, or strategies which help the inhabitants in great need, to reduce their poverty level, and look for a better wellbeing. It is about the resources derived from the social structure, the network, norms, organizations and institutions, trustee and cooperation sources, which support the community's development beyond the traditional or modern progress practices, and economic growth. Consequently, this writing develops a revision of the social patrimony's concept as a local development strategy at a countryside community.
