VERBS WITH TWO PREFIXES IN SERBIAN LANGUAGE IN REGARDS TO OTHER SLAVIC LANGUAGES

This paper analyzes verbs with two prefixes in Serbian language, at the same time comparing it with other Slavic languages. A special attention is given to those verbs where it was expected that the influence of the prefixes would be the most prominent - to those called `illogical verbs' containing the prefixes with the meanings opposed to one another, and to the verbs with the same prefixes. We also analyzed verbs with the prefix ne-, as well as those verbs which denote two actions where one action precedes the other. An attention is given also to the importance of the position of prefixes and their effect on the verb meaning.
