ELECTRICAL TRANSPORT IN A QUANTUM WIRE

摘要
The DC electrical conductivity of a quantum wire, of width much smaller than the mean free path, is evaluated for impurity scattering. The lateral confinement is modelled with a square or a parabolic well. The confinement renders the electronic motion quasi-one-dimensional and changing the Fermi energy or the width leads to oscillations in the density of states, the scattering rate, and the conductivity. Also the influence of electron-electron interactions on the conductivity is investigated. © 1990.
