摘要
In present times the study of African traditions in Brazil and of the possibilities of their appropriations to compose works in the so-called performing arts has been increasingly valued in graduate programs in Arts. Such investigations reveal an epistemological challenge: how can we transpose traditional knowledge especially manifested in the rituals and festivals of African origin in Brazil to conduct performances and/or to produce research in graduate school? In critical dialogue with the work of other researchers, this article discusses the possibilities of appropriating such knowledge and of its interaction with the fields of arts and education.
