Elizabeth de Cacqueray is Senior Lecturer in English Studies at the University of Toulouse Le Mirail, France. Her research focuses on the representation of women in British cinema with a particular interest in the period 1939-1945. This has led to research in the adjacent field of women's painting during the same period. She runs the "Jeudi du genre" Gender Study Group, at Toulouse Le Mirail, with Karen Meschia and was joint organiser of the "Women, Conflict and Power" Conference, in October, 2009. Recent publications include the joint editing of "Voicing Conflict: Women and 20th Century Warfare", Miranda, no 2, July 2010, and the article "New Slants on Gender and Power Relations in Second World War Films" in the same collection.
