摘要
The influence of fourteen liquid additives, under selected milling conditions, on dry grinding of calcite at four additive concentrations and two grinding times was studied. The effect of physical properties of these additives on the grinding process has been analysed by linear multiple regression analysis. It is concluded that the additive action depends on the nature of the additive used, the size distribution of the mill content and the adsorption phenomena of additive molecules on particle surfaces which alters the powder flowability and particle breakage mechanisms. The surface tension and dipole moment of the liquid are assumed to influence the solid-liquid surface interactions, whereas the kinematic viscosity and vapour pressure are expected to influence the drag force acting over the particles during grinding.
