Contemporary historians of science on the early history of the London Royal Society

The article analyses the approaches of the three generations of contemporary scholars on the early history of the London Royal Society. The authors point out that the focus had been gradually shifted from the analysis of the social factors that influenced the natural sciences in the early modem England, in particularly, religious and political ones, to the studies of social norms in the structure of knowledge.
