ACTIVE SUBSTANCES IN AQUEOUS INFUSIONS OF CHAMOMILE .2. RELEASE KINETICS OF SELECTED TERPENES

The capability of selected terpenes of Chamomillae flos to pass over to an aqueous infusion in dependence of the duration of extraction and outer conditions was specified by gas chromatography. There are no significant differences in qualitative but in quantitative aspects in comparison with the essential oil of chamomile flowers. In dependence of the single substances there are rates of passage to an aqueous infusion of 2-57%, in the average approximately 15% of the genuin existing essential oil. Extractions of a duration of 10 min in uncovered bowls give much better results as often recommended other conditions of extraction.
