摘要
The anodic behavior of N,N-dialkylanilines having various kinds of electron-withdrawing groups at their α-positions was studied comparatively in methanol. These anilines underwent α-methoxylation and/or cleavage of a carbon-nitrogen bond depending on the kind of N-alkyl and electron-withdrawing groups. It was concluded tentatively that the regioselectivity of such methoxylation and C-N cleavage may be controlled mainly by both the kinetic acidity and steric effects on the deprotonation step of the radical cation intermediates adsorbed on the anode. © 1990.
