STRUCTURE OF FAC-TRICARBONYL[BIS(2-DIPHENYLPHOSPHINOETHYL)PHENYLPHOSPHINE]-TUNGSTEN(0)

[W(CO)3{PhP(C2H4PPh2)2}], [W(CO)3(C34H33P3)], M(r) = 801.8, monoclinic, P2(1)/n a = 12.052 (4), b = 18.761 (4), c = 15.174 (6) angstrom, beta = 106.77 (3)-degrees, V = 3285 (2) angstrom 3, Z = 4, D(m) = 1.61 (3), D(x) = 1.62 g cm-3, lambda(Mo K-alpha) = 0.7093 angstrom, mu = 37.7 cm-1, F(000) = 1592, T = 298 K, R = 0.026 for 4345 observed reflections. The title compound was prepared from W(CO)6 and PhP(C2H4PPh2)2 in n-decane. The three homologues, M(CO)3-[PhP(C2H4PPh2)2], M = Cr, Mo and W, have similar molecular structure and the Mo and W analogues are isomorphous.
