摘要
This qualitative study presents and discusses the results obtained from a research of a systematic review whose main scope was to map the studies carried out on the questions of professionalization and teaching identity of the professor of Medicine. The methodology was designed to systematize the research criteria of the systematic review to be carried out, the equation and scope of the research, as well as to define the criteria for inclusion and exclusion of the online search. The research paper was applied independently by two researchers. As a database for the research were used online Scielo and Cadernos ABEM (Brazilian Association of Medical Education). As results pointed out that regarding the teacher and professional training of the professor of medicine is still very scarce. As previously evaluated, most teachers of medical schools do not recognize teaching as a profession, but rather a complementation of their duties in the training of these medical professionals.
