摘要
Positron annihilation lifetime spectroscopy (PALS) as a probe of free volume in polymers and composites is reviewed. The effect of temperature on the free volume distribution and studies of the effects of thermal history on room temperature free volume and related mechanical, physical and diffusional properties are presented. The free volume related phenomena discussed include the glass transition, physical aging, gas permeability, and crosslink density.
