摘要
We compare three algorithms to solve the sparse symmetric generalized eigenvalue problem on vector and parallel computers: reduction to a standard problem, use of Sturm sequences, and Lanczos method. An efficient vector implementation for tridiagonalizing a banded matrix is also presented.
