摘要
This article discusses the sexual and reproductive rights in the United Na-tions (UN) Conferences occurred in the 1990s, especially how those rights appear in these conventions. These are: the Human Rights Conference in Vienna (1993), Conference on Population and Development in Cairo (1994) and the Fourth World Conference on Women Beijing (1995). The international scenario and its contexts in which such rights occur are also discussed. The agreements reached in the conferences are exposed in order to identify its impact in the Brazilian reality. It concludes that, to advance in the field of sexual and reproductive rights, it is essential to consider local contexts and their differences, away from the universalizing and global notions.
