AN IMS TEST-CASE - GLOBAL MANUFACTURING

This paper provides background information on the International Intelligent Manufacturing System (IMS) initiative, and a description of the GLOBEMAN 21 international test case. It examines the origins of the initiative and the reasons behind its development. The paper then takes a detailed look at the GLOBEMAN 21 test case, examining the objectives and the scope of the study, followed by a review of experiences gained so far.
