摘要
Alkane isomerization over Pt/ZrO2/SO4= shows a positive hydrogen kinetic order, suggesting the reaction proceeds via chain transfer pathways, rather than by conventional bifunctional (metal-acid) sequences. Adamantane, a molecular hydride transfer agent, when added in small quantities to n-heptane feeds increases isomerization rates while inhibiting cracking reactions. The faster hydride transfer rates and accompanying shorter carbocation surface residence times decrease secondary cracking. This effect differs significantly from acid site poisoning by aromatic molecules, which decreases both isomerization and cracking rates.
