摘要:
Background. In 2013, in France 40.6 % of women used an oral contraceptive (OC). General practitioners (GPs) initiate and renew it. The high authority of Health recommends dedicated consultations for contraception which is rarely followed by GPs because of multiple complaints in consultation. Aim. To determine adult women's motivations to ask GPs to renew their OC during a consultation initially not dedicated to it. Methods. Qualitative study using semi-structured face to face interviews with fourteen women who asked to renew their CO in second or third intention during consultation. Patients have been recruited in four different GP practices during 15th May to 15th September 2015. Results. Asking for renewal OC in second intention of consultation seemed to be motivated by patient's loose of anticipation and rapid access to GP's. Annual follow-up by gynaecologists and absence of systematic gynaecological examination by GPs seemed to banalize the renewal of OC by GPs. Women did not consider their OC as a medical treatment and were not interested in dedicated consultation. They only expected to get their OC, prescribed by the GP or directly in drug-store. Conclusion. Patient's attitude seemed to be induced by GPs who should reorganize their consultations to optimize the follow-up of their patients using OC.
