CORROSION PROBLEMS AT TURBINE CONDENSERS OF THE GREIFSWALD NUCLEAR-POWER-PLANT

摘要
Operation of the Greifswald NPP turbine condensers is characterized by tubing corrosion on the cooling water side and contact corrosion of the tube plates. CuNi5Fe and CuNi10Fe1Mn did not prove useful as the tubing materials. Due to local corrosion tubing lifetime is about 13 to 22 years depending on tube wall thickness. CuNi30Mn1Fe shows better corrosion behaviour, titanium is proposed as an optimal tube material. In order to prevent contact corrosion of the tube plate, cathode protection systems with impressed-current anodes have been developed and installed which have proved best for 6 years by this time.
