摘要
This paper examines a comprehensive set of data on the prevalence and correlations of psychological distress in the 1561 students attending high schools in Ventimiglia (Italy). The data were collected by a cross-study. The aim of this paper is giving a multivariate approach to the psychological distress problem among Italian adolescents in relation to family life, socioeconomic characteristics and social aspects. The level of psychological distress was evaluated by GHQ-30. The esplicative variables significatively associated with psychological distress ar-e bad quality of family relationships, parents' bad psyche-physical health status, attending ''licei being female, the age and external locus of control. While socioeconomic characteristics, living with only one parent and the number of friends are not associated to high GHQ-30 scores in this sample.
