摘要
This paper is concerned with the semi-active control of structural vibrations via variable damping elements. Such an approach is insensitive to the spillover problem encountered in fully-active systems. An algorithm based on the sliding mode theory is developed and analysed. Comparing to the ad hoc method presented in previous literature, this new approach improves the system‘s performance under actuator constraints. Both proportional damping and general damping cases are discussed. Analysis on a beam example is performed to examine the theoretical predictions in terms of the robustness and performance of the control law. © 1993 by Academic Press, Limited.
