摘要
We have studied a CO2 waveguide resonator with a square bore and plane mirrors, reporting the theoretical and experimental effects of changing the mirror-guide distance and of tilting the mirror. It can be misleading to neglect typical mirror-guide distances Z = 2-4 mm in favor of extreme-near-field (“Case I”) simplifications. Our results from a small (≃20 cm × 1.3 mm × 1.3 mm) RF-excited laser agree well with predictions (from an improved multimode matrix model) of output power, line-tuning behavior, and CW beat frequency. © 1990 IEEE
