CROSS-SECTIONS FOR THE 100 MEV PROTON-INDUCED NUCLEAR-REACTIONS AND YIELDS OF SOME RADIONUCLIDES USED IN NUCLEAR-MEDICINE

摘要
Cross sections and yields have been determined for some radionuclides, used in nuclear medicine (Fe-52, Kr77/Br-77, Sr-82, Xe123/I-123, Ba128, Tl-201), in bombardment of targets with proton of energy less-than-or-equal-to 100 MeV. The experimental cross sections are compared with the excitation functions calculated by the code ALICE in the energy range from the threshold to 100 MeV. At the end of bombardment the thick target yields were as follows (mCi/mu-A-h, in the given energy range): for Fe-52 from Mn-55 - 0.8 (36-100 MeV) and from Co-59 - 0.1 (64-100 MeV); Kr77 from Br-79,81 - 313 (24-100 MeV); Sr-82 from Rb-85,87 - 0.43 (36-100 MeV); Xe123 from I-127 - 270 (48-100 MeV); Ba128 from Cs-133 - 8.4 (43 - 100 MeV); and for Tl-201 from Pb-206 - 3.5 (49 - 57 MeV), from Pb-207 - 3.0 (57 - 68 MeV), from Pb-208 - 1.5 (68 - 76 MeV) 32 hours after the end of the bombardment.
